An example of a complex destructive dilemma is the so-called “magician’s dilemma”, originally proposed by the philosopher Robert Nozick. In this dilemma, a shaman offers a person a choice between two potions: one that causes the person to experience intense pleasure for the rest of their life, but also makes them severely addicted to the drug. , or one that causes them to experience intense pain for the rest of their lives, but at the same time relieve them of their addiction.
